Ghana draws Egypt
Ghana has drawn seven times African champions, Egypt in the final play-off for a place in the FIFA World Cup in Brazil next year.
Ghana, according to the draw in Luxor, Egypt on Monday will host the first leg at the weekend of October 11-15 before visiting the North Africans on the weekend of November 15-19 for the second leg.
The winner over the two-leg becomes one of Africa’s five representatives at the quadrennial event.
The Black Stars are hoping for a third successive appearance at the mundial following previous attendance in Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010.
The last time both teams met in a competitive match was at the finals of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola where Ghana were 0-1 losers.
In other pairings, Cote D’Ivoire hosts Senegal in Abidjan before journeying to Dakar for the return leg a month on.
Ethiopia will be at home to African champions, Nigeria in the first leg. Tunisia will face off Cameroon whilst Algeria plays Burkina Faso.
