Minister of Finance To Present Revised Budget To Parliament Today
The Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper, will this morning present a revised budget statement to Parliament. This has become necessary partly because of the dramatic fall in the price of oil on the international Market.
The fall in oil price indicates that government is going to suffer a revenue shortfall of nearly seven hundred million dollars as against estimates in the budget statement which were presented in Parliament in November last year.
There are speculations that the revised budget has become necessary as a result of the government`s programme with the IMF.
The programme has made a number of recommendations some of which are expected to feature in the revised budget. – GBC
