The Embassy of Ghana, Washington DC (USA), in conjunction with the Council of Ghanaian Interfaith Alliance (COGIA) is asking all Ghanaian Churches in the USA to pray for Wednesday, June 3, 2015 fire explosion and flood victims of Accra on Sunday, June 14, 2015.

A press release issued by the Mission also asked all Ghanaian Muslims in the US to also pray on Friday, June 12, 2015 for the victims.

Meanwhile, a book of condolence for the Accra flood victims will be opened at the Embassy, 3512 International Drive NW, Washington DC from Monday, June 15, 2015 to Wednesday, June 17, 2015 for members of the Ghanaian Community and the American public to sympathise with the government and people of Ghana.

The book of condolence will be opened on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm. On Tuesday, June 16, 2015 it will be opened from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm and Wednesday, June 17, 2015 also from 10.30 am – 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm.  

In addition, the Embassy is coordinating the collection of relief items from well-wishers all over the US in support of the recovery efforts of the Ghanaian government.

It is therefore requesting all Ghanaians and friends of Ghana to join the Embassy in this endeavor to make life a little better for the victims.
