President Mahama Launches Free Secondary Education at Ekumfi Otuam

President John Dramani Mahama has launched the government's Free Secondary Education Program at Ekumfi Otuam, the hometown of the late President, Prof John Evans Atta Mills, in the Central Region.

The President also officially inaugurated the Otuam Community Day SHS, to commence the program.

The government has promised to build 200 community day SHS across the country and the World Bank is also supporting the government to build additional day secondary schools.

Districts without secondary schools have been given priority attention in the construction of the schools.

Every year thousands of JHS graduates who qualify to pursue secondary education are not able to do so due to the lack of space in existing facilities.
