Non-Denominational Service Usher In New Year For Washington Mission
His Excellency, Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, asked staff of the Mission to work together as one big family to achieve targets set by the Mission for the year 2016.
Speaking at an Inter-Denominational Service to usher in the New Year at the Chancery, Ambassador Smith asked the staff to be tolerant with leadership when challenges come up in the spirit of togetherness.
Touching on the political climate during the year, he appealed to the staff to be non-partisan in their work and said even though everyone has the liberty to support whichever political party they choose, their support should be seen as peaceful and in the interest of the nation.
His Excellency ask members of staff to always love motherland Ghana and make security, service and sacrifice their slogan as they did the previous year and thanked them for their dedication to duty and the efficient manner they handled their duties.
Welcoming Ambassador Smith back from Ghana, Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Skido Achulo Seidu Sullman reminded the staff that 2016 is an election year and therefore the need for staff to do away with partisan politics and contribute positively towards national development.
