H. E. LT. GEN. JOSEPH HENRY SMITH (RTD.) PRESENTS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO PRESIDENT OF MEXICO
His Excellency Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith (Rtd) presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Mexico, H.E. Enrique Peña Nieto on Monday, 24th October, 2016 at the Presidential Palace, in Mexico City, Mexico.
2. On Tuesday, 25th October, 2016, H.E. Lt. Gen. Smith paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Carlos de Icaza, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico. They spoke on a wide range of issues on bilateral co-operation.
3. While in Mexico, H.E. Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith (Rtd.) paid a courtesy call on Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps, H.E. Leovigildo Da Costa Silva, Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Mexico. The meeting touched on bilateral relations in various fields such as the promotion of democracy, peace, security and the eradication of poverty.
4. The Ambassador also met with the Ghanaian community in Mexico City. During the meeting, he expressed the Mission’s desire to work closely with them to promote the welfare of all Ghanaians in Mexico and also harnessing their support for the national development effort. Ambassador Smith has since returned to Washington, D.C.
