Work starts on Bonikope school complex

Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills, the First Lady, has cut sod for the commencement of work on a school complex for the people of Bonikope in the Dangme East District.

The school complex, comprising a nursery, primary and Junior High Schools, with a sick bay, library, playground and a garden, forms part of government’s commitment towards ensuring quality education, at all levels to impact positively on the development of the country.

 Mrs. Mills said during the sod-cutting ceremony that the project will be extended to other deprived communities, adding, “it is my utmost wish that every child in this country will have access to basic education and have it in comfort.”

 She also expressed her gratitude to the chiefs and people of Bonikope for their support and urged them to ensure that the project becomes a reality.

Nii Armah Ashietey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, on his part, commended Mrs. Mills for the initiative and pledged that the facility will be put to good use.

 He also urged the chiefs to release more land, to enable the government expand the facility even to the university level.
