B/A health facilities to receive support
Ms. Augusta Ofeibea Tettey, the acting Public Relations Director of the Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), says MedShare International, a -US based Non-Profit Organisation (NGO), has agreed to provide hospitals and health centres in the Brong Ahafo Region with medical supplies and equipment.
She adds that MedShare International has decided to ship a 40-foot container of medical supplies and equipment valued at $200,000, to the beneficiary health facilities in the region by the end of the first quarter of this year to begin with.
According to a statement issued and signed by Ms. Augusta Ofeibea Tettey in the Brong Ahafo Region, the deal was made possible by Mr. Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, when he led a nine-member delegation from the region to Atlanta, Georgia, in the USA, early, this year.
The items to be provided include anaesthesia machine, autoclave/sterilizer, bulk cast saw, centrifuge, delivery beds, iconoscope computers, computer monitors, defibrillator/monitors, dermatome, diagnostic ultrasound machine, electrosurgical unit, endoscopy equipment, infant incubator and warmers.
The rest are potable X-ray system, oxygen concentrators, ultrasound-echography, vital sign monitors, chemistry and blood gas analysers.
