Ghana to lift first crude oil


The Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) is set to lift the first crude oil from the Jubilee Field on behalf of the government this week, following the successful lifting of the crude by the other Jubilee partners.

The crude oil which is currently being stored in the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah is said to be close to a million barrels.

 Due to the arrangement made among partners of the Jubilee Field, crude oil is lifted in turns, Tullow oil the operator of the field with the biggest shareholding, lifted the first consignment, followed by Kosmos Energy, Anadarko and GNPC in that order.

 So far, the other three partners have lifted a total of 3.7 million barrels of crude from the Field.
