More UKAID for Ghana

Mr. Tom Crowards, acting Deputy Director for the Department for International Development (DFID), has announced that UKaid has increased its development assistance to Ghana from €85 million in 2011 to €100 million by the year 2015.

He adds that this will help create 144,000 jobs out of which 55,000 will be women as well as provide a cash grant to over 250,000 vulnerable people in the rural areas.

Mr. Crowards made this known in Accra, indicating that the support is an investment in Ghana’s ongoing success and also as a means of laying a good foundation for the aid-free future in ten years.
