President Mills said during the launching the campaign at Bawku in the Upper East Region, that government wishes to turn things around, adding “the revival of the cotton industry will inure to the benefit to all in the three regions”.

He further urged all partners in the campaign and the industry to co-operate to achieve the set target and also assured the chiefs of the area of government support to improve the livelihood of the people.

The cotton production areas in the three regions have been demarcated into three zones as part of the campaign, in which the farmers in the zones will be pre-financed by three assigned companies.

The three companies Wienco Ghana Limited (North Eastern zone), Olam Ghana (North Western zone) and Flexus/Amajaro Ghana Limited (North Central zone) will also have the right to purchase of the cotton production by the farmers as a way of providing a ready market for them.
