EDIF approves GH¢7m credit for businesses


Mr. Alex Bernasko, a Member of the Board of Directors of the Export Development and Investment Fund (EDIF), says EDIF approved GH¢7 million to operators in the export sector to enhance their business activities between January and March, this year.
He adds that GH¢38,354,880 was also disbursed to operatives engaged in the export trade last year to boost their business operations. Mr. Bernasko, who is also the Head of the Legal Department of the Bank of Ghana, made this known in Accra at a stakeholders meeting to address challenges in the export sector, under the theme, ‘EDIF, a Reliable Partner for the Promotion and Development of Ghana’s Export Trade’. According to him, a total of GH¢164,253,195 credit facility has been granted to persons operating in the export sector to enhance their business transactions since the establishment of EDIF in 2002 and that there are still loanable funds available for disbursement.
