Veep’s office rectifies figures of USAID commitment to SADA
Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, the Vice President’s Spokesman, has apologized for the mix up in the figures he announced as commitment of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) towards the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA).
According to him, the amount is $60 million instead of the $400 million as earlier stated and will focus on the development of commercial agriculture in the SADA regions.
He pointed out that $40 million out of the total amount will be dedicated to the implementation of the Accra Plains Irrigation Project.
Mr. Jinapor said the USAID and the World Bank have also confirmed $100 million in commitments to finance agricultural expansion during a meeting with H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the Vice President, in Washington DC, USA.
