600 youth trains in dressmaking

The National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), in collaboration with Asongtaba Cottage Industry and Exchange Programme (ACI&EP), has presented six hundred sewing machines and accessories to beneficiaries who have undergone a six-month intensive training.

Mr. Joseph Nelson, the Regional Coordinator of the NYEP who received the items on behalf of the Regional Minister praised Asongtaba Cottage Industry and Exchange Programme for its laudable initiative to train and economically empower the youth in this country.

 According to him, the region is expected to train some eight hundred more youth in the dress making module and urged others to join the training.

 Mr. Polycarp Kazaresam, the Head of Monitoring and Evaluation at ACI&EP, said that the organization is about to row out the auto mechanic scheme module under the NEYP for the Western Region.

 The successful beneficiaries were later presented with certificate and their sewing machines to start work.
