Ghana’s food security to get a boost

H.E John Dramani Mahama, the Vice-President of Ghana, says the Country will benefit from a $36million Australian food security centre.

He explains that, the food centre is an effort by the Australian government to help other countries increase their food security.

 The Veep announced this to the Media in Perth, Australia, at the just-ended Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting, stating that a letter to that effect has been written by H.E Julian Gillard, the Australian Prime Minister, which President John Evans Atta Mills, has received.

 He mentioned that three Ghanaian intellectuals have been appointed to serve on high positions in the Commonwealth at the just-ended conference of the Heads of Governments at the Australian city of Perth.

 Dr. Emmanuel Akwetey, a Governance and Democracy Expert, has been elected to serve on the Commonwealth Eminent Persons Group, whose responsibilities include preparing a report on how to make the Commonwealth responsive to the current times.
