We Will Ensure Peace And Unity In Ghana - Prez Mills

His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills has indicated that, it will be much more costly if the country’s peace and stability is shortchanged. 

He said, though Ghana is not insulated from violence, the necessary structures are being put in place to safeguard the peace, unity and stability of the country. 

Inaugurating a thirteen (13) member National Peace Council (NPC) at the Castle, Osu, President Mills charged the Council to do whatever it takes to ensure that the will of the people are not subverted. 

He urged the Peace Council to sanction persons or group of persons who would be considered as obstacles to the peace and security that Ghanaian are currently enjoying.

President Mills also called on Ghanaians to remain law abiding and shun acts and comments that have the potential of throwing the country into the abyss of war and social unrest.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Benjamin Kumbour also hinted that his outfit would collaborate with the peace Council and other stakeholders to guarantee that Ghana remains the beacon of peace in the sub region.

The Chairman of the National Peace Council Most Rev. Professor Emmanuel Asante pledged the Councils commitment to help maintain and preserve the Unity, Stability, love and development of the country.
