Chinese delegation in Ghana


A statement has been issued by Volta Region Development Agency (VORDA), to announce that two separate Chinese delegations on Health and Agriculture from Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region are on reciprocal visits to the Volta Region under the Volta-Ningxia Sister-Relationship programme.

It stated that the main purpose of the reciprocal visit is for the business community of Ningxia, to explore the numerous investment potentials in the Region and form partnerships with indigenous business persons in developing sustainable and viable projects.

Togbe Afede XIV, President of Volta Region House of Chiefs and the Volta Region Development Agency (VORDA), under his initiative signed a Memoranda of Understanding(MoU), for a sister relationship during a visit of a delegation from the Volta Region to China, Ningxia in September 2011 with the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the Peoples Republic of China.

The statement mentioned that the agreement between the two Regions states that both Regions shall carry out exchanges and cooperate in the areas of Economy, Trade, Agriculture, Fishery Industry, Mining Industry, Chinese traditional medicine, tourism, science and technology and health to promote common prosperity and development.

The Health delegation was received by, Togbe Afede XIV, Mr Henry Ford Kamel, Volta Regional Minister, MPs and DCEs of the Region.

Others were, Heads of   Departments, Members of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and Board Members of VORDA, Nana Soglo Alloh IV, Vice President of Volta Region House of Chiefs, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, Paramount Chief of Anfoega, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, Paramount Chief of  Krachi, Togbe Patamia Dzekley VII, Paramount Chief of  Battor, Togbi Kporku III, Dufia of Alakple, Mamaga Akosua, the Ngoyifiaga of Sasadu Traditional Areas and Appiah Danquah Kufuor.
