United Nations Ghana commends the Ghanaian media


Mrs Ruby Sandhu-Rojon, United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator, has commended journalists for their tremendous work with the international body throughout the year.

She observed that partnership with the media is the best approach to create capacity building for people.

Mrs Sandhu-Rojon made the commendation at a media forum in Accra on Thursday to appreciate journalists for their reportage on the activities of the UN throughout the year.

She said UN’s partnership with the media over the years have been helpful in achieving its objectives.

According to her, the contributions of the media in the society cannot be underestimated.

Mrs Sandhu-Rojon congratulated the President elect, John Dramani Mahama and the opposition political parties for the peaceful elections.

Mrs Cynthia Prah, National Information officer of the UN, expressed gratitude to the journalists for their estimable work with the organisation and expressed the hope that there would be more collaboration next year.

She urged journalists to venture into other aspects in their reportage especially on development issues.
