His Excellency, Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) joined Very Rev. Dr. Sam Prempeh to unveil the plague to officially declare the building opened.

Mr. David Adjaye, a Ghanaian architect and lead designer of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, located on the National Mall in Washington DC, on Friday, October 7, 2016 paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency, Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith at the Chancery.

Welcoming Mr. Adjaye to the Embassy, Ambassador Smith praised his exceptional qualities as an architect and as a worthy ambassador of the great country Ghana.

Last Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Golden Theater in Broadway, New York, a true daughter of Ghana, Ms. Akosua Busia, made Ghanaians proud with her performance in Eclipsed, a Tony awards Nominated play.

The story line of Eclipsed has it that amid the chaos of the Liberian Civil War, captive wives of a rebel officer, band together to form a fragile society, until their lives was disturbed by the arrival of the rebel officer’s new wife.
